“Pictured above are a few photos from my hair journey. Top left is my big chop halfway done while I was relaxed. Right side is my hair completely natural. ”
It was during high school that I first decided to grow my hair out. I envisioned walking down the halls with my hair swaying in time with my steps, of course in slow motion. Like in the movies. I also remember telling my high school boyfriend my plan and him looking at me as if I had lost my mind. I told a few others and was met with the same reaction. I remember feeling excruciatingly disappointed that no one really thought I could do it. In my mind I knew that maybe people were just tired of hearing women say they were going grow their hair and not really do it, but I just really knew I could!
Remember that the Lord is good. You may not see it yet but everything that happened to you helped bring you to this place, this moment. Know that the Lord was with you through all the good moments and all the tough moments. Trust is His plans and promises over your life. Make an effort to spend time with Him so that He can give you His love and peace in exchange for all the things you hold inside. Let go of the pain of the past and walk into the goodness of the Lord!!
Say it with me! The Lord is good!
